About Jie Wu
Accomplished Temple University Professor and Researcher
Drawing on 30 years of teaching experience at the college level, Dr. Jie Wu is a professor in the Department of Computer and Information Sciences at Temple University. A former chair of department, he also currently leads as director of the Center for Networked Computing and as director of International Affairs at the College of Science and Technology. Dr. Jie Wu has taught at the school since 2009, prior to which he served for nearly 20 years as a distinguished professor at Florida Atlantic University (FAU).
Outside of teaching, Dr. Jie Wu has authored numerous peer-reviewed research articles as well as the books Opportunistic Mobile Social Networks and Energy-Aware Scheduling and Multiprocessor Platforms. He is particularly interested in research areas such as mobile computing, wireless networks, social network applications, and network trust and security.
A fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Dr. Wu earned the Outstanding Service Award from its Technical Committee on Distributed Processing in 2018 and has garnered three Best Paper Awards from the membership group since 2016. He holds a PhD in computer engineering from FAU and a master's degree in computer science from Shanghai University of Science and Technology.Experiences
